Tamar Barzel

Tamar Barzel received her Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Michigan in 2004 and is currently Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Ethnomusicology (2004-2006) in the Department of Music at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Her article, “If Not Klezmer, Then What? Jewish Music and Modalities on New York City's Downtown Music Scene,” was published in the Michigan Quarterly Review, Winter 2003.
