Carol Zemel

Carol Zemel is Professor of Art History and Chair of the Department of Visual Arts at York University. She is the author of Van Gogh's Progress: Utopia, Modernity and Late-19th- Century European Art (University of California Press, 1997), and recent essays on diasporic production in Jewish culture. Currently, she is completing a book length study, Graven Images: Visual Culture and Modern Jewish History.
